Cisco to Sell Linksys

Bloomberg is reporting that Cisco Systems is trying to unload Linksys on anyone who will buy it after acquiring the network hardware manufacturer back in 2003 for $500 million.

As for the reason behind the sale, Cisco is trying to get out of consumer businesses so it can focus on corporate software and technology services. In other words, they realized there’s no real money in home networking and want to get back to what they used to be good at.

Maybe Linksys routers won’t be such giant pieces of unreliable shit, now?
