Google Sells Motorola Home Division For $2.35 Billion

It’s rare that Google is on the selling end of a big business deal but it happened today. They managed to unload the Home division of Motorola to Arris Group for $2.35 billion. Google acquired Motorola Mobility two summers ago for a sum total of $12.5 billion.

In case you’re wondering, Motorola Home manufactures those ugly, clunky set-top boxes that just about every cable provider (i.e. Comcast) turns around and leases to its customers.

I wonder if Arris is aware of the existence of things like Netflix and Hulu?
