Christopher Tolkien, son of legendary fantasy writer J.R.R. Tolkien, just slammed director Peter Jackson in his first public interview. The younger Tolkien says Jackson “eviscerated” his father’s books. He went on to say in his brief talk with French newspaper Le Monde that Jackson ”reduced the aesthetic and philosophical impact of the creation to nothing”.
Honestly, I have to agree. The Lord of the Rings film trilogy was decent. The Hobbit, on the other hand, was a disappointing and shameful mess compared to the book.
