As Kim Dotcom promised, the Mega file sharing service is now live. Unfortunately, its launch was marred by downtime (due to a possible DDoS) and criticism of the encryption algorithm that Dotcom is using to protect users’ privacy. On the whole, however, it’s solid. I spent a few minutes tinkering with it. It’s a bit slow – but it seems to function as advertised.

The real question, of course, is how long it will be before law enforcement raids Kim again.
