Surprise, surprise. Mere days after someone leaked technical specs for the PS4 to the web, a similar “leak” of specs for the Xbox “Durango” has occurred. The new Microsoft console supposedly runs on a 1.6GHz eight-core CPU, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and an added 32MB of embedded SRAM - presumably for the operating system and to speed up boot.
Unlike the PS4 leak, the “Durango” report includes confirmation of the video chipset. The new Xbox runs an 800MHz GPU with 12 shader cores. The report also mentions Blu-ray.
Comparing the two leaks it looks like Microsoft has the hardware advantage. But then again, we don’t have a.) confirmation that either is accurate or b.) detail on the PS4 video chip.
