Red Bull Releases Data On Baumgartner Jump

Professional skydiver Felix Baumgartner captivated the world last October when he rode a hot air balloon to the edge of space and then jumped back to Earth like it was nothing. Today, the stunt’s sponsor Red Bull released an analysis of the raw data from the jump.

Baumgartner jumped from an altitude of 127,852 feet and reached 843.6 MPH. That’s 1.25x the speed of sound. Baumgartner’s heart was at 185 BPM when he jumped. Holy fuck.
