Bloatware and You
Posted by Mr. IndigoWith Windows 7 now released and available on new computers, I would expect folks to be looking at new systems. However, new computers seem to be shipping with more and more bloatware (or as I prefer to call it – crapware) these days. PC manufacturers include this junk software at a cost to the companies that develop it. But who’s really the one paying for it?
What many people don’t seem to realize is that these “free” programs aren’t really free. Even if you never use them, they might be slowing your shiny new computer down – considerably. According to this article on Gizmodo, bloatware can have a serious impact on your boot time.
My solution to this issue has always been The PC Decrapifier. It scans your computer for installed software and in one step uninstalls all of the software you never wanted in the first place. It’s a great way to reduce the number of clicks needed to clean your system instead of uninstalling each “Trialware” package individually.

You could, of course, just do a clean installation after buying the PC… that’s what I do when someone I know buys a new PC. I don’t have the problem, I build my own ones.

Clean install is by far the best way to go.

The Windows Stores that are going to be opening soon will be selling PCs, minus the bloatware. Which is a good idea cause the bloat is what gives Windows and PCs a bad rep generally.

Built my own myself but I figured it might be good advice for those shopping for new systems which seems to spike when a new OS is released.
