The Art of Noodles: Reservoir Dogs
I’ve posted art from Chris Morkaut, also known as Noodles, in the past. He’s truly got a gift for illustration, as you can see from the incredibly detailed Reservoir Dogs piece below.
We’ve actually been talking to Chris about a collaborative project for the past several weeks. Unfortunately, that’s been hampered by the storm that knocked us out and by ongoing issues with our web mail server over the past few days. (We owe you an apology, Chris.)
Expect to see more of his work here in the coming weeks – maybe even with the chance to buy prints of his pieces in poster form if there’s enough interest.

I’m going summarize my response to this video with an emoticon: o_O
Graffiti Artist Paid In Facebook Stock Now Worth $200 Million
Back in 2005, Facebook commissioned graffiti artist David Choe to do some funky artwork at their headquarters facility in Palo Alto, California. They paid him in stock.
That stock is now worth somewhere in the range of $200 million thanks to the IPO that the company announced yesterday. That’s not too bad considering that Choe thought the concept of Facebook was “ridiculous and pointless” at first. Lucky bastard, this guy.
Space Invaders IRL
Computer graphics artist Tom Carruthers is the man who rendered this absolutely terrifying interpretation of what a Space Invader might look like if it were a real creature.
You can check out more of his work right here.
Minecraft: Day One
There are a few decent Minecraft live action films floating around out there but this one is easily the best so far. The editing is fantastic.
Brilliant Star Wars LEGO Minifig Photography
Vesa Lehtimäki, also known as Avanaut, does some truly incredible things with a relatively cheap camera, LEGO Star Wars minifigs, and a bit of lighting trickery.
His Flickr stream is full of all kinds of awesome stuff. It’s definitely worth a look.
Potato Head Dictators
Artist Stephen Ives thought it would be fun to turn some of history’s most notorious dictators into Mr. Potato Head style toys, so that’s exactly what he’s gone and done. Awesome.
Papercraft Gears of War 3 Snub Pistol
Leo Firebrand of Firebrand Creations made the replica of the Snub Pistol from Gears of War 3 pictured below entirely out of paper.
You can see a full gallery – including the “making of” – right here.
Dennis Maitland, Daredevil Photographer
Dennis Maitland is a photographer from Detroit, Michigan. One of his favorite things to do is climbing old buildings so that he can take photos of his legs danging over their sides.
The results, as you can see in the shot below, are both awesome and terrifying.
The Moon and Venus Over the Swiss Alps
This ridiculously awesome photo was taken by photographer and Flickr user David Kaplan. He has an unbelievable collection of gorgeous photos in his stream.
