Developer Brings Windows to Jailbroken iPads

Developer Pedro Franceschi just released an awesome new app via Cydia, the renegade Apple app store. It’s called Quasar. It adds windows to your jailbroken iPad.

No, not Microsoft Windows. Windows as in windowed modes for all of your favorite apps.

Pennsylvania Boy Pees On Elementary School MacBooks

A Pennsylvania boy is facing charges of “institutional vandalism and criminal mischief” after destroying a cartful of MacBooks at his school – by peeing on them.

Officials at the elementary school where the incident occurred say the laptops were damaged “beyond repair”. The total cost to the school is estimated at around $36,000.

nVidia Announces GTX 690

nVidia just took the video card market by storm with the announcement that they’re rolling out the GTX 690 this coming Thursday. It’s priced at a jaw-dropping $999 but features specs that put both its predecessors and the competition to absolute shame.

Google Launches Google Drive

The rumors were true: Google Drive is a thing that exists.

You get 5GB of storage free just for signing up. You can also choose to upgrade to 25GB for $2.49/mo., 100GB for $4.99/mo. or 1TB for $49.99/mo. That isn’t nearly as good of a deal as Dropbox package pricing - but the advantage with Google is obviously infrastructure.

Also, if you upgrade your Google Drive, your Gmail account storage grows to a 25GB cap.

Four Year Old Murders Father Over PlayStation

A four-and-a-half year old boy in Saudi Arabia reportedly killed his father this past weekend because the man didn’t buy him a PlayStation console.

The father, who has not been identified, died instantly from a gunshot wound to the head.

It’s unclear as to whether the boy asked for a Vita or a PS3.

Nokia is about to release a brand new uber-phone that features an absolutely incredible 41 megapixel camera. (No, that’s not a typo.)

The 808 Pureview will run $870 when it’s released next month.

Nintendo Confirms New Super Mario Bros. 2

Nintendo decided that last night was as good a time as any to confirm that a New Super Mario Bros. sequel is due out for the Nintendo 3DS worldwide in August. We can expect to hear details and see gameplay footage during Nintendo’s presentation at E3 2012.

I’m going to have to go out and buy a 3DS, now. Damn it.

Gabe Newell Denies Meeting With Tim Cook

Well, this is interesting. Valve co-founder Gabe Newell says everyone at Valve is “confused” about the reported meeting between him and Apple CEO Tim Cook - because the meeting didn’t actually happen. Gabe dismissed the report as a rumor during an interview with Seven Day Cooldown today, saying, He seems like a smart guy, but I’ve never actually met him.”
