Poor Max
Let this be a lesson to you, Rockstar: never try to compete with the true gods of gaming.
Seriously, though, who else is counting down the minutes to midnight? It’s almost here.
Minecraft 360 Breaks One Million Sales
The Xbox 360 port of Minecraft has been something of a success. Not only did it shatter all previous launch day sales and play records on Xbox Live Arcade; it also surpassed the one million sales mark this morning and people have already spent 2.4 million hours playing.
Considering that it’s only been available for five days, that’s kind of insane.
Rovio Announces “Amazing Alex”
Rovio, the Finnish game developer that gave us Angry Birds, is working on a new game.
It’s called Amazing Alex and it’s based on an iOS title called Casey’s Contraptions, which the company bought the rights to last year. It’s a physics based puzzler due out in July.
No word on platforms or pricing but my guess would be around $2.99 with a launch on iOS.
Max Payne: Valhalla
Just in time for the release of Max Payne 3 comes a fan film worthy of the franchise.
Sony Stock Drops to 31-Year Low
Sony is in bad shape. The company announced a record ¥456.7 billion ($5.71 billion) loss this week, which sent share prices tumbling on the Tokyo Stock Exchange yesterday by an incredible 6.7%. That’s a 31-year low for the Japanese electronics giant.
It’s been four years since Sony last posted any profits. They’re going to be in a world of hurt if they don’t do something drastic to turn things around in the next fiscal year.
What Is Diablo III?
In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past year or so, Blizzard put together this four minute video summarizing the ins and outs of Diablo III.
Hitman: Sniper Challenge
Starting May 15th, if you pre-order Hitman: Absolution you’ll be rewarded with access to a standalone mini-game called Hitman: Sniper Challenge. Interesting marketing, Ubisoft.
