Microsoft Already Manufacturing New Xbox?

IGN is reporting that an anonymous source told them that Microsoft has already sent the first batch of new Xbox consoles into production at a manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas. The company that owns the facility in question, Flextronics, manufactures the Xbox 360 and was also responsible for the manufacture of the original Xbox console.

Could Microsoft be lying about their plans - or their supposed lack thereof – for E3 2012?

Microsoft Announces $99 Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle Deal

Microsoft is now selling the 4GB model of the Xbox 360 - with a Kinect - for $99.

There’s a big catch, of course. You have to agree to pay $14.99 per month for an Xbox Live Gold account for 24 months to get the deal. ($14.99 x 24 = $359.76 + $99 = $458.76)

In other words, Microsoft is now baiting idiots into buying the 4GB model of the Xbox 360 with a Kinect on a payment plan that ends up costing them $86.54 more than it would cost to just buy the package with two years of Xbox Live Gold outright from Amazon.com.

Need For Speed: Most Wanted 2 Confirmed

Remember when someone at British retailer GAME leaked word back in January that Need For Speed 13 would be released this year? Well, it turns out that’s true – and we were able to confirm through a reliable source that the game is in fact Most Wanted 2. We’ve also got it on good authority that Criterion Games is building the game on the Hot Pursuit engine.

Even without confirmation from our source, however, there’s a mountain of evidence.

South African retailer BT Games actually published (but later took down) a pre-order page for both Most Wanted 2 and Dead Space 3 last month. This morning, EA confirmed during an earnings call that a new Need For Speed is under development and will be released at the end of Q3 2012. They neglected to provide a name for the title, however.

Regardless, we’re here to tell you that it is in fact a Most Wanted sequel.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 – Alternate Trailer

Draw Something Numbers Plummet

A little more than a month after Zynga acquired both the game and its creator OMGPOP for $180 million, it appears the Draw Something craze has taken a steep dive. The number of daily active users has dropped from 14.3 million to 10.4 million in the last thirty days.

That’s not good for Zynga, which makes most of its money on micro-transactions and banner revenue. It is, however, damn good news for OMPOP. They clearly sold at the right time.
