Retronyms, makers of several high quality audio apps for the iPad, just rolled out one of the most impressive looking music production tools ever released for an Apple device. It’s a fully modular environment called TableTop.
You can get the core app with 9 of the 12 launch modules included right now for $4.99 on the App Store. I’ve just purchased it, myself, and plan to do a full review later this week.
Amy Winehouse Found Dead
In what amounts to the least surprising news of the year, singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment this morning. She was 27 years old.
Winehouse, whose albums have won dozens of awards over the past few years, fought a very public battle with drugs and alcohol addiction. She was a flamboyant and controversial – but brilliant – musician.
The cause of death is unclear at this point. However, it’s believed to have been a drug overdose. Winehouse was already dead by the time paramedics were dispatched.

Eminem’s “Recovery” Surpasses One Million Sales
Rapper Eminem made history once again this week, becoming the first recording artist in the world to break the one million sales mark with a digitally distributed album.
Recovery, the seventh album from the Detroit based artist since his explosive debut in 2000, was released in June, 2010. The digital sales amount to nearly a quarter of the album’s total sales so far – 3.9 million.
Not bad considering the length of his absence.
