Porn Star Tori Black Arrested For Domestic Violence

Award winning porn star Tori Black was arrested and charged with domestic violence in Las Vegas last week along with the father of her child after the two got into an ugly drunken fight – over their baby’s formula.

Officers responded to a call from the Hard Rock Hotel early last Tuesday. Black, whose legal name is Michelle Chapman, told police that she had been drinking before arguing with her fiancee about breast milk.

Black admitted punching fiancee Lyndell Anderson in the head. Anderson shoved her to the ground.

Both Black and Anderson were arrested. Black was in Las Vegas for the AVN Awards. With her baby. As if that weren’t bad enough, she didn’t even win an award this year.

Pfizer Issues Recall On Birth Control

Pfizer issued a massive recall on more than one million packets of birth control pills today because they may actually raise the likelihood of pregnancy. The pills, which are marketed by Akrimax Rx Products in the United States, contain too many or too few active tablets.

I’m guessing that there will be a lot of lawsuits over this one.

The Pirate Bay’s Founders Are Headed to Prison

The Pirate Bay’s seemingly unending legal saga finally came to an end in Sweden today as the Supreme Court rejected a final appear from the site’s three owners. Founders Fredrik Neij, Peter Sunde and Carl Lundström, are now destined for prison.

The trio was initially sentenced to prison three years ago, convicted of facilitating copyright infringement. They appealed the ruling in several courts and although they failed to overturn it, they did get their twelve month sentences reduced by between two and eight months.

Their fines and prison terms will remain the same: ten months for Neij, eight months for Sunde and four for Lundström. There’s also a fourth co-founder involved, Gottfrid Svartholm, who was absent from several hearings. Under today’s ruling, his original sentence will stand, and the four men will have to pay a total of $6.8 million in damages.

Because the trial has dragged on for close to five years, however, it’s possible that their sentences could all be reduced by twelve months – a common practice in Swedish courts.

Immediately following the court’s ruling today, the site moved from a .org domain extension to .se to prevent the US government from seizing their domain name.

MegaUpload User Data Soon to Be Destroyed?

The proprietors of MegaUpload, most of whom are behind bars right now, received a letter from the U.S. Attorney’s Office yesterday informing them that all of the data uploaded to MegaUpload servers by users may be destroyed before the end of the week.

That includes millions of files that were legally uploaded. In other words, if you uploaded an important file to MegaUpload and didn’t keep a backup, you may be fucked.

The looming wipe is the result of MegaUpload’s lack of funds to pay for the servers. They lack the funds, of course, because their finances were seized during the raid a few weeks back.

I actually kind of hope this happens. I can only imagine the response the feds would receive from groups like Anonymous if they actually exhibited such blatant abuse of power.

Park Ranger Tases Man For Having Dogs Off Leash

A National Park Service ranger used her taser against a man who was just walking his two small dogs off leash at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in California yesterday. Why? Because he tried to brush her off. Witnesses say he did nothing wrong.

The man, whose name is Gary Hesterberg, allegedly gave the ranger a false name and tried to walk away. The ranger zapped him, paramedics and police were called, and Hesterberg was arrested for “failing to obey a lawful order” and “knowingly providing false information”.

Oh, and he was also cited for having his lap dogs off leash. I smell a lawsuit brewing.

Wikileaks Founder to Host TV Show

Wikileaks announced this week that Julian Assange is preparing to host a TV show. The series will focus on interviews conducted by Assange with “key political players, thinkers and revolutionaries”. It begins airing in March. Expect an initial run of ten half hour episodes.

This certainly ought to be interesting, if nothing else.

Gingrich Promises Moon Base

Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich made a hilarious promise during a speech in Florida yesterday: a permanent space station on the moon by the end of his second term.

Honestly, I hope he finds a way to make it happen even after he loses the race – so we can load his dumb ass onto a rocket and send him there to live.

US Navy Seals Kick Ass In Somalia

The same team of US Navy Seals that killed Osama Bin Laden are making headlines again today after successfully rescuing two US aid workers from kidnappers in Somalia.

Jessica Buchanan, 32, and Dane Poul Thisted, 60, are in “good condition” and were put on a flight home last night after the rescue operation. No American forces were injured in the mission. All of the kidnappers were killed.

Considering what these guys have done just in the past twelve months, it’s hard not to think of them as a band of BAMF real life action stars.
