RIM Restoring BlackBerry Service Following Outage

Their service update page pretty much tells the story, but RIM is just now beginning to recover from a mysterious global BlackBerry service outage that started in parts of Europe and the Middle East back on Monday and quickly swept across the globe.

The company either doesn’t know or doesn’t want to talk about what actually happened, which makes it smell like a security breach of some kind. No one has tried to claim responsibility for the downtime, yet, but it’s very likely that someone brought them down.

Steve Jobs Died of Respiratory Arrest

Steve Jobs’ death certificate was issued earlier today by the Santa Clara County Public Health Department. Respiratory arrest caused by a “metastatic pancreas neuroendocrine tumor” was the official cause of the Apple co-founder’s death. Terrible, to say the last.

Jobs’ occupation was listed as “entrepreneur” on his death certificate.

Walmart Fight Sends 19 to Hospital

A woman named Theresa Monique Jefferson, 33, attacked another woman at a Walmart store in Baltimore, Maryland in what police say was a dispute over a boyfriend. But it’s not the fact that she attacked her that’s necessarily big news.

No, it’s the fact that she attacked her with a mixture of bleach and Pine-Sol that makes this a story. Combining ammonia with bleach creates toxic gas. The incident sent 19 shoppers to area hospitals. Jefferson, of course, was arrested and charged with several counts of assault.

Anonymous Threatens to “Erase” NYSE From the Internet

Hacktivist collective Anonymous made some rather ominous threats directed at the New York Stock Exchange yesterday, proclaiming that they intend to “erase” it from the Internet on October 10th. Here’s the exact quote from the YouTube video that the group released.

“We will show the world that we are true to our word.

On October 10th, NYSE shall be erased from the Internet. On October 10th, expect a day that will never, ever, be forgotten.”

This is apparently tied to Anonymous’ support of the Occupy Wall Street movement, which has spread to other major cities across the United States in recent days.

Idiot Hunter Shoots Grizzly Bear, Then Friend

Ty Bell, and his friend Steve Stevenson, were hunting for black bear just outside Billings, Montana last week when they encountered a grizzly. Bell apparently can’t tell the difference between a black bear and a grizzly – because he decided to shoot it, despite the fact that it’s illegal to kill them basically everywhere in the United States.

But it doesn’t stop there. Bell didn’t actually kill the bear, which turned on the two men as they tracked it into the bushes. The bear got its teeth on Stevenson’s leg and Bell accidentally shot and killed Stevenson while trying to stop the animal from killing them both.

Bell unfortunately won’t face any charges despite being a complete retard.
