Blizzard is jumping on the Black Friday bandwagon with huge discounts on both StarCraft II and Diablo III. You can get them for $20 and $40, respectively. Not bad at all.
Heart of the Swarm, the first expansion for StarCraft II, is due out on March 3rd, 2013. The standard edition will be $39.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition will be $59.99.

We’ve known for almost two years now that Blizzard plans to release expand Diablo III. But today we got an official confirmation from CEO Mike Morhaime, prompting a fair bit of outcry from players who have been waiting for PvP to be added to the game.
In any case, Blizzard hasn’t nailed down a timeline but the project is under development. It will likely be the end of 2013 at the earliest given Blizzard’s tendency toward long dev cycles.
In response to the game’s waning popularity, Blizzard has made the unusual decision to add a progression system to StarCraft II via the upcoming Heart of the Swarm expansion.
I personally haven’t touched StarCraft II in months and I honestly don’t think this will be enough to bring me back. The sequel just doesn’t have the same bang as the original.
Blizzard has detailed the new “Monster Power” feature coming to Diablo III with the big 1.05 patch. In short, it allows you to fine-tune the strength (and drop potential) from enemies.

Blizzard just published the patch notes for version 1.0.5 of Diablo III and boy, is this going to be a huge update. They’re adding a new Monster Power system, a new high level character event called Infernal Machine, and they’ve made hundreds of fixes and balance changes.
This might just be enough of a paradigm shift to get me back into the game.
