THQ Delays Metro: Last Light, Publishes Release Schedule
The saga of video game publishing titan THQ has taken several twists and turns this week. A day after reducing their workforce by 240 positions, the company is making headlines again for several reasons. Here’s a quick rundown of what we know right now.
- Metro: Last Light, sequel to Metro 2033, has been delayed to 2013.
- There are more than 1.4 million unsold uDraw tablets collecting dust in a warehouse right now. THQ lost $100 million on that investment decision.
- The Warhammer 40,000 MMO, Dark Millennium Online, is not canceled!
- inSane, the horror game that Volition was working on with director Guillermo Del Toro, and Homefront 2, which was in development at Crytek UK, are both still happening.
- THQ has two unannounced “core” titles planned for release in fiscal year 2014 and four planned for release in fiscal year 2014.
Not bad considering that the company is otherwise falling apart at the seams.

Modern Warfare 3 DLC Calendar Revealed
Activision has revealed their nine month DLC plan for Modern Warfare 3 players who have subscribed to Call of Duty Elite. I’m actually impressed. It looks like they’ve got a lot of new content in the pipe – everything from new maps and special ops missions to new multiplayer modes of play. It honestly looks like $50 worth of additional gameplay to me.

GAME Confirms Need For Speed 13, Medal of Honor Sequel
Someone at British brick and mortar video game shop GAME confirmed via Twitter today that EA is planning Need For Speed 13 and the next Medal of Honor game in 2012.
The tweet has since been taken down and EA “refuses to comment on rumor or speculation”. In other words, it’s all true. Not like this comes as a big surprise, anyway.

Modern Warfare 3 Closes McTavish and Price Storyline
In case you were wondering about the future of the franchise, Infinity Ward creative director Robert Bowling thinks he’s done with John “Soap” McTavish and Captain John Price as characters and he says that Modern Warfare 3 was meant to give “closure” to the story.
In other words, MW3 is probably going to be the last in the series.
I won’t share spoilers about the plot because I don’t want to ruin the ending for those of you who intend to finish the campaign. I will say, however, that it provides a satisfying conclusion.
