Halo 4 Coming November 6th
Microsoft and current Halo franchise developer 343 Industries announced today that Halo 4 hits stores on November 6th – Election Day here in the United States.
I wonder how many people are going to skip the election lines to buy this, instead?
Crysis 3 Confirmed
Following a leak on Origin last week, EA confirmed today that Crysis 3 is in development and due out in the spring of 2013. The third entry in the franchise will be a “sandbox” shooter built on the latest iteration of Crytek’s incredible looking CryEngine.
You’ll once again take on the role of Prophet, returning to New York City in the year 2047 to take revenge on the Cell Corporation. And yes, you do get an awesome looking bow.
Eurogamer has more details – and the first screenshots from the game.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter – Gameplay Trailer
EA released the first official gameplay trailer for Medal of Honor: Warfighter today. Woo!
EA Accidentally Confirms Crysis 3
Someone at EA is probably in wee bit of trouble this afternoon after accidentally publishing a listing and logo for Crysis 3 on Origin for several minutes this morning. Rumors surfaced in February that the game is under development but Crytek had yet to make anything official.
They might as well come out and confirm the game’s existence, now.
No Bulletstorm Sequel Planned
Despite the fact that Bulletstorm’s campaign ends on a cliffhanger, Epic Games president Mike Capps told Gamespot in a recent interview that his company has no plans for a sequel any time in the near future. Capps went on to say that the team at People Can Fly is already busy with another project that Epic thought was “a better fit” for the team.
If this turns out to be another terrible entry in the Painkiller franchise, I’m going to cry.
Sniper Elite V2 – Cinematic Trailer
I really hope this one lives up to the hype.
Bethesda to Announce DLC For Skyrim and RAGE
Pete Hines, VP at Bethesda, tweeted on Friday that we can expect announcements for both RAGE and Skyrim this month. In other words, there’s DLC in the works for both games.
You may remember that Todd Howard stated in an interview earlier this year that when (not if) Bethesda releases Skyrim DLC, it will have an “expansion” feel. I, for one, am pumped.
Sniper Elite V2 – Killcam of the Week #5
This is easily the most painful looking shot of the series so far.
DICE Releases Massive Battlefield 3 Patch
DICE started the process of rolling out a massive (1.07GB) patch for Battlefield 3 today. It’s only available on the PS3 right now but the PC and Xbox 360 versions are due out soon.
In addition to the patch, DICE also announced their “Rent a Server” program for PS3 players. Prices range from $1.99 for a single day to $64.99 for three months of control over a server.
Lastly, the company introduced “shortcut packs” – DLC that lets you skip the grind by paying to unlock kits and vehicles for use in Battlefield 3 multiplayer matches. Lame? Convenient? It really depends on how much time you want to devote to the game, I suppose.
