The source also says that Microsoft plans to integrate some sort of technology that makes it impossible to play used games. That ought to cause quite a bit of controversy if it’s true.

Dozens of major tech companies debuted hundreds of their newest gadgets and technology during opening day of CES 2012 today. Here’s a summary of product announcements that we’re still going to care and want to hear more about a month from now.

Razer unveiled an awesome looking new gaming tablet dubbed Project Fiona.

ViewSonic and EXOPC unveiled a 32″ multi-touch surface called EXOdesk.

A company called Innergie debuted their PocketCell portable device charger.

Vizio carpet bombed the audience with new products – everything from a whole new line of television sets to all-in-one desktops, laptops, a new tablet, and more. (My favorite toy of the show so far is their new $100 Stream Player. It’s a no-brainer buy.)

A company called BlueStacks debuted its Android app player for Windows.

Corning unveiled Gorilla Glass 2, which is 20% thinner than the original.

Canon shot their competition in the face with their new G1 X point and shoot.

LG introduced a new 84″ Ultradefinition 4K 3DTV that nobody can afford.

Samsung unveiled a ridiculously gorgeous 55″ OLED TV.

Sony confirmed that the U.S. launch of the PS Vita will include Netflix support.

Just about every company at the show unveiled new televisions, Blu-ray players, tablets, cameras, and ugly-ass cell phones that no one will end up actually buying. There was a lot of static on the show floor today. I covered the “big ones” here.

Microsoft isn’t comfortable selling you firearms for your Xbox Live avatar anymore – but a body modification is just fine, it seems. You can now purchase tattoos for your avatar.

Sadly, they come in the form of shirts and tank-tops with transparent sleeves. In other words, you’re limited to arms only and whatever shirt your avatar was wearing will have to go.

The virtual ink will set you back between 160 and 240 MS Points depending on the design.
