Microsoft Releasing Chrome Series Xbox 360 Controllers

I’m not usually one to get excited when one of the “big three” console manufacturers puts out a completely unnecessary aftermarket peripheral but these new chrome wireless controllers for the Xbox 360 look damn sexy – and they feature the transforming d-pad. Microsoft plans to release them sometime around the middle of next month for $54.99 apiece.

No New Xbox 360 at E3 2012

Microsoft squashed all of the rumors today concerning the next Xbox console and E3 2012. The company does not intend to unveil the new system, which is codenamed either “loop” or “durango” depending on who you talk to, at this year’s E3 or “any time soon” for that matter. In fact, they plan to focus entirely on the latest Xbox 360 games and services at the show.

Of course, this could just be a ploy to get Nintendo and Sony to let their guard down.

Obsidian Entertainment, the development house behind Fallout: New Vegas, was dealt a heavy blow this week after Microsoft reportedly pulled out on its plan to publish what would have been a launch title for the new Xbox console. According to Joystiq, the company lost between 20 and 30 employees as a result of the cancellation.

Sadly, this also impacts the South Park RPG, which was announced back in December.
