Project Cube World is an upcoming indie title that’s basically a Minecraft RPG. Rad!
Mojang has released a snapshot of version 1.6 of Minecraft. The latest update adds a ton of cool new things to the game including horses that can be saddled and ridden, hay to feed the aforementioned horses, leashes, and carpets. It also introduces a new launcher.
No word yet on an official release date, unfortunately.
Markus “Notch” Persson, the man who gave us Minecraft, just unveiled his latest creation. It’s a typing game built on the Unity web engine called Drop. I gave it a go. It’s fun.
I wasn’t expecting this to end quite the way it did.
Someone already translated the beautiful floating city of Columbia from BioShock Infinite to a Minecraft map. I’m surprised and impressed at the level of detail.
Mojang hired a group of busty female “companions” for the predominantly male crowd in the VIP area of its GDC party this year. The Minecraft proprietor denies it but more than a dozen people – including several of the girls themselves – have confirmed the rumor.
This is both funny and an incredibly sad marketing stunt, if you ask me.
I’d pay good money for a story-driven Minecraft action adventure game like this.
Mojang plans to launch an in-house Minecraft hosting service called Minecraft Realms. It’s aimed at families and will be designed to make running your own multiplayer server easy.
This isn’t any big surprise -and it’s going to be a cash cow for Mojang in the long run.
Minecraft head Jens Bergensten, better known as Jeb, says the big 1.5 update – dubbed the Redstone patch – is coming sometime in the next two weeks. The scope of the update is staggering to say the least. You can read the details on the game’s official wiki.
I think this will be the update that brings me back to the game.
