Techland and Deep Silver have shared a bunch of new details about Riptide, the next entry in the Dead Island franchise. Here’s what we know about the game so far.
- It’s coming to the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC in 2013.
- It’s a direct sequel to the first game and will allow you to continue your character.
- The main plot twist revolves around the helicopter and a monsoon. (Do the math.)
- There will be a new playable class that adds “much needed support”.
- The game’s multiplayer component is being reworked to encourage team play.
Despite its horrendously buggy launch, Dead Island turned out to be a rather awesome game. I’m definitely excited about playing the sequel. Because zombies.
It’s time for the Final Assault. These maps look rather awesome, Call of Duty game or not.
The Walking Dead – Episode 3: The Long Road Ahead is now available on Xbox 360 and PC. It will be available on PS3 and iOS at a later date.
Burnout clone or not, I’m going to have to buy this one.
Someone with a VIP account just won a copy of Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.
Until Dawn is a new PS3 exclusive from Supermassive Games. It’s being described as a “typical teen horror movie” in video game form. In other words, it’s full of sex and gore.
It’s basically just a remix of footage that’s already been released – but that hasn’t stopped me from watching it several times. I really want to play this game.
Streaming game service OnLive had a rather eventful day, it seems. The company sold itself to a “newly formed company” this morning – and more than half of the OnLive team was fired. The company’s executives (none of whom lost their jobs) are now claiming that most of their team will be re-hired by the new owner, which has “substantial funding”.
It’s unclear at this point who exactly bought the company. But considering that Sony already nabbed OnLive’s competitor Gaikai, it’s possible that Microsoft is involved.
